WHY OH WHY, KEN?
Film director Ken Russell – famous for The Devils or appearing Celebrity Big Brother, depending on who you ask – have once again made a controversial statement. In a Observer Magazine piece on 5 October, he said: “Never wear jeans. They signify a lapse of taste”. He then admits to “never have been in fashion”.
No shit mate. Jeans, worn correctly, is and should be a staple product of every man’s wardrobe. Look at James Dean and Marlon Brando, who both made the white T-shirt and jeans combo a legend. Ken, do I go around telling you how to make your films, how to set the light and what actors to use? No, do what you’re good at and leave the rest to us. He finishes: “I’m ahead of my time, not in step with it”. Not sure about the first bit mate, but the last seems right…
