R.I.P. Mr. Blackwell

He was the failed Hollywood actor who turned on everyone else who succeeded with their film career. Mr Blackwell, the man who invented the Worst Dressed Hollywood actor/actress award, has died in Los Angeles, aged 86. Respect to what he did; these people, supposedly our icons and role models, must pay the price of fame and dress respectably, stylish and appropriate and so on. Most of them haven't got a clue. As a wise man once said: You can buy fashion but not style.

However, in these fame obsessed days it's important to remember why you go after a celebrity. Everyone has right to privacy and pride. In the words of Mr. Blackwell himself: "The list is and was a satirical look at the fashion flops of the year. I merely said out loud what others were whispering . . . it’s not my intention to hurt the feelings of these people. It’s to put down the clothing they’re wearing". Amen.
