KAWS and COMME des GARCONS

Legendary cartoonist KAWS is landing in the UK to take on Banksy for the title of Graffiti Artist of the Year. While Brit Banksy is making serious money in auctions, it is New York based KAWS who rakes in the credibility points.

Brian Donnelly, as his mum calls him, have collaborated with Comme des Garcons on a range of wallets, bags and t-shirts.To be launched in Collete and Dover Street Market, the merchandise features KAWS signature drawings and his own take on the CDG logo. In London the launch is part of Sparkling, the Japanese brands Christmas celebrations.

The artist, who started out when he was 12, has also managed to squeeze in time for the Japanese designer Konno’s Nexus7 brand. The collection includes Gore-Tex jackets in high-tech fabrics with subtle details added by KAWS. Also well worth checking out. Sparkling and KAWS /CDG hits DSM on 28 November 2007.
